Please Stop describing me as a ‘village boy’ – Bisa Kdei begs Ghanaians

Highlife artiste, Bisa K’dei has called on members of the public to stop describing him as a ‘village boy’ since he was never born and raised in the village. “I am an Akuapim boy but was born at Labadi, I am a La boy and can speak Ga very well…

I have never stayed in the village before…,” he said on Adom FM’s mid-morning show, ‘Work and Happiness’ on Thursday. Born Ronald Kweku Dei Appiah, Bisa Kdei has made lots of waves in Ghanaian music industry since coming onto the scene a few years ago. The lyrics in his song which normally talks about everyday happenings in life has made many conclude that he was born and bred in the village.

But Bisa Kdei insisted it was never so. He however revealed that he was a ‘hustler’ who had lots of old men and women as friends which he communicates a lot with. His father, he said, also influenced him a lot as ‘he used to play lots of highlife music when I was young and that also influenced my taste for that type of music’. These factors, he said influence him a lot in the selection of lyrics for his songs
