The Catalan giants can make history if they beat Rayo on Thursday night in La Liga after coming from behind to take all three points against Unai Emery’s side
Barcelona have equalled Real Madrid’s Spanish record of 34 matches unbeaten in all competitions after seeing off Sevilla 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday.
Goals from Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique were enough to secure victory for Luis Enrique’s side after they fell behind to a goal from Vitolo.
The win sees Barca move eight points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table after they beat rivals Real 1-0 on Saturday.
Sevilla were the last side to beat Barcelona in La Liga, recording a 2-1 win over the Catalan giants back in October at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.
Barca have gone onto record 27 victories since that defeat and Luis Enrique’s side are now on target to beat Real’s unbeaten record, set in 1988/89, when they face Vallecano on Thursday night in La Liga.
